After a successful installation of the ThreatLocker Agent, a popup will appear in which you can either select 'OK' or 'Open System Settings'.
When the above popup appears, select 'Open System Settings' (2). This will bring you directly to the area in System Settings which will provide ThreatLocker with the correct permissions.
If you happen to select 'OK' (1), you might experience issues with the ThreatLocker agent as not all permissions have been properly applied yet.
You will notice that in navigating to the ThreatLocker Tray Icon, most of the options will be greyed out.
This shows that not all permissions have been given to the ThreatLocker agent and must be applied manually. Follow the below step-by-step instructions to enable the necessary permissions:
-
Open System Settings, which is located in the Dock at the bottom of your screen.
-
In System Settings, navigate to 'General' and select 'Login Items & Extensions' from the list.
-
Within the 'Login Items & Extensions' screen, navigate to the 'Allow in the Background' section. Make sure that 'ThreatLocker, Inc.' has the switch turned 'On'.
-
Also found in ‘Login Items & Extensions’, navigate to the ‘Extensions’ section and select the ‘i’ button located to the right of ‘Endpoint Security Extensions’.
-
Selecting this will open the ‘Endpoint Security Extensions’ window. Make sure that this is enabled for ‘ThreatLocker’ by switching the button ‘On’ if it is not already.
-
Once this is turned on, a popup that says ‘”ThreatLocker” Would Like to Filter Network Content’ will appear. Select ‘Allow’, then select the ‘Done’ button.
-
Next, navigate to 'Privacy & Security' and select 'Full Disk Access' from the list.
-
Confirm that the 'ThreatLocker Agent' has been granted 'Full Disk Access'. If not, make sure that the switch is turned ‘On’.
-
Navigate to ‘Notifications’, then select ‘ThreatLocker UIAgent’ from the list of applications.
-
Within the ‘ThreatLocker UIAgent’ page, make sure that the ThreatLocker UIAgent is allowed to send out notifications. Make sure that the following three options are enabled.
Once you have completed these steps, your ThreatLocker agent should be fully functional. Now, when you navigate to the ThreatLocker Tray Icon, you will see that the options will no longer be greyed out.
