Tray Settings - Patch Management Alert

Requires Windows Agent 10.9.1 or greater.

 
When an application needs to be restarted before a patch can be applied, end users will receive a popup message alerting them of the need to restart.  They can choose to close the application at the time of the alert, or they can schedule a time to close the application and apply the update.

The Patch Management Alert tray setting allows organizations to modify the text, location, and update time options displayed when ThreatLocker attempts to update through Patch Management.
 

Navigate to the Advanced Settings page.

Select '+ New Setting' button.

  1. Select Tray Settings - Patch Management Alert under the Setting Typ3
  2. Select the 'Applies To'; this dropdown allows the organization to select the Entire Organization, or specific groups and users
  3. Select in which order the tray setting will be applied

 

Organizations can modify the text displayed when a new alert is received: 

A. Determines where the patch management alert will display on screen

B. Text displayed when there is a pending application update

C. Text displayed when there is a pending system restart due to an application update

D. Text displayed when selecting a time to update

E. Text displayed when selecting a time to restart 

F. Text displayed when there is currently an application update

G. Text displayed when there is currently an application update resulting in a system reboot

 

The text display on the buttons can also be customized in the Button Text section.

 

Available restart times that will be displayed, how often the user will receive additional alerts, and the available minute increments the user can select to defer the update for can also be customized. 

  1. Configure the options that will be displayed when determining update times
  2. Configure the frequency of action alerts and update deferral increments

Select 'Create' to finish configuring the tray setting. 

Once created, remember to select Update Agents to deploy this configuration to the agents in the selected 'Applies To'.

The organization's configurations will now be reflected when new Patch Management alerts are sent to user endpoints.
