Tray Settings - Menu Customization

Note: This Agent Setting requires ThreatLocker Windows Agent 10.5.3 or above. This Agent Setting is not currently available on macOS.

When using the ThreatLocker agent, users can right-click the tray icon to access the ThreatLocker tray menu. This menu provides several functions, such as the 'Realtime Unified Audit', which displays both blocked and permitted files on a user’s machine, and 'Blocked Items', which shows items currently being blocked so users can request access. Depending on your organization’s needs, you may not want every option visible to all users. With the 'Tray Settings – Menu Customization' Agent Setting, you can control which tray menu options appear for end users. You can also rename these options to better align with your organization's needs.

To apply this in Agent Settings, select the 'Tray Settings - Menu Customization' option from the 'Setting Type' dropdown when creating a new setting.

Use the ' Applies To ' dropdown to select which group or machine these Agent Settings should apply to. You can select the entire organization, a specific computer group, or an individual computer.

The 'Parameters' section includes all tray menu options, an input field, and a dropdown menu.

Note: By default, all of these options are available in the tray menu except for 'Elevation Mode Menu Button', which is only made visible if the 'Full Self Elevation' Agent Setting is turned on for the user.

By default, all of these buttons are visible. Selecting the dropdown on one of the options gives you two choices: visible or hidden. Selecting 'Hidden' ensures that this option is made inaccessible to the user.

Changing the text shown in the input fields also changes the name of the tray option for the user. In the example below, 'Elevation Mode' has been changed to 'Self Elevation' in the input field, which will change the appearance of the tray option.

Changed to 'Self Elevation':

Once you have confirmed all parameters are set, select the 'Create' button at the bottom of the page. Ensure that the 'Update Agents' button in the top left corner of the page is selected to apply your settings.
