Reported: April 4, 2025

ThreatLocker has been made aware of an issue with the installation or updating of certain versions of SentinelOne on computers also running ThreatLocker.

In our testing, the last version of SentinelOne that installs or updates without issue is 24.1.5.277. SentinelOne agent versions 24.2.2.461, 24.2.3.471, and 24.2.1.408 fail installation and cause CPU issues, rendering machines inoperable.

We are actively working with SentinelOne and have provided them with this information to assist them in finding a resolution as soon as possible.

Please reach out to our Cyber Heroes if you believe you are affected by this issue and need assistance or updates.

Update: April 16, 2025

After working with SentinelOne, it has been determined a solution is being developed within SentinelOne's agent.

According to SentinelOne, impacted customers are requested to open a ticket with their Support team for further assistance in resolving this case.

Update: May 28, 2025

In their ‘New and Improved in Windows Agent 24.2’ article SentinelOne have advised their customers to apply a specific Policy Override to alleviate issues with their agent’s upgrade process. Please contact SentinelOne for more information on this Policy.

NOTE: SentinelOne’s article also recommends disabling ThreatLocker before upgrading SentinelOne. Disabling one security product to upgrade another should not be necessary and is not recommended.

In parallel to SentinelOne’s efforts to fix their issue, ThreatLocker has been working on implementing a workaround in Threatlocker version 10.1 to address these SentinelOne issues. Internal testing of this workaround has seen positive results, and should customers prefer not to wait for a SentinelOne fix affected customers may instead upgrade to this version of ThreatLocker.
