Cyber Hero Management uses categories and subcategories to help organize and define how software is controlled within your environment. A category represents a wider group of related applications, such as Networking Tools, and can be used when you want a policy to apply broadly across that type of software. A subcategory provides a more specific classification within that larger category, such as IP Scanning Tool, and allows you to target a narrower set of applications without blocking the entire parent category.
Understanding the difference between categories and subcategories helps ensure policies are correctly scoped, whether your goal is to block a broad class of applications or only a specific type of software.
In the following table, categories are colored blue, and any related subcategories will appear underneath them in white.
