Allowing ThreatLocker Communication Through an Authenticated Proxy Server

1 min. readlast update: 08.26.2024

If you utilize a proxy server that requires authentication, you may encounter problems when you use ThreatLocker.

Proxy servers that require authentication either require a username and password to access the Internet or authenticate users by using their current domain credentials.

ThreatLocker runs as SYSTEM, which is typically not a user that can be authenticated.

Depending on your proxy configuration, machines may not be able to communicate with ThreatLocker's APIs, preventing them from registering and checking in to the ThreatLocker portal.

You can resolve this issue by enabling unauthenticated access through your proxy server.

We recommend that unauthenticated access only be enabled for connections to *.threatlocker.com
